We have with us in Lusaka a mission team from Global Horizons with members from both the UK and USA. A total of seventeen team members have now arrived. Many of the team are in their early twenties…but others are in retirement, so it’s a great blend of generations.
A major focus of their trip is hosting a youth retreat this weekend for over fifty teenagers—mostly from the Lusaka area, but there will also be a couple of teens coming from Zimbabwe.
We’re so proud of how this whole team has dived in this week to serve in such a variety of ways among the churches, schools, children’s homes, and in the community!
Each day, the team has sent mini-teams out to community projects. They’ve helped teach at Destiny School in Matero and at Fountain of Life in Chibolya. They’ve participated in church home groups, and done painting inside one of the Chimwemwe children’s homes.
A team also came up to join Dr. Karen at Beit-CURE hospital for a day. They were a real encouragement to the staff and patients’ families, and the nurses among the team got a hand in with the patients themselves.
